ABOUT US


Kisumu Youth Football Association (KYFA) is a charitable sport for development organization using value based football and games as tools to promote education, public health, child rights, peace, football talents and life skills of children and youth in Western Kenya. Founded in 2004 but registered in 2009, the organization’s vision is to be a leading sport for development organization in Africa. KYFA utilizes different sport related drills and games as well as events, tournaments and forums both in and out of school as platforms to advance various community development objectives highlighted above. An average of 10,000 girls and boys ages 8-25 in and around Kisumu County participate in our seasonal football competitions, tournaments and school based behavior change activities anchored on life skills trainings, girls mentorship and child participation and protection and academic recognition and support. We see sports as a low-cost, high-impact tool for advancing a broad range of community development objectives

Our goals include provision of high-quality soccer competitions, opportunities and trainings, creation of awareness and improve practices in our key community development areas, development a team of community stakeholders committed to serving children, initiation and management of partnerships and alliances for learning and greater impact and building an effective and professional organization that upholds principles of transparency, accountability and gender equality.
